Plenty of plumbing companies promise emergency services, but not all of them have the means to provide truly reliable work when you need an emergency plumber. Hansen’s Plumbing has been helping homeowners out of their worst plumbing jams for years. We know just how important it is to have a reliable emergency plumber. See why it’s crucial to choose a plumbing company that can really get the job done.
There are few people who wouldn’t want to conserve their budgets whenever and wherever possible. Emergency services may not be free, but they can end up costing far less than waiting to fix the problem. A plumbing emergency in a home is only going to get worse over time. Even if that time is only the span of a few hours. To avoid everything from water damage to pipe replacement, emergency services can be the key to preventing bigger costs down the line.
The value of running water is evident to all homeowners. The consequences may not always seem like enough to call emergency services at the time. But imagine what it’s really like to be without a working toilet or sink. The lack of hygiene can quickly become a health hazard if you’re not careful (in addition to the hassle of working around the problem). Our services are designed to get everything in running order again as quickly as possible.
Every plumbing system in Ventura County has its own quirks, some of which can make repairs difficult to complete. Hansen’s Plumbing have seen it all and are prepared for every plumbing situation. The drain clog and the slow drain are, unfortunately, basic problems for plumbing systems that can never be completely banished even with a Ventura Commercial Plumber. Whether you’re a local business owner or a commercial property owner, you may need to schedule drain cleaning or other major drain and sewer line repairs through a Ventura Commercial Plumber. But a clogged drain shouldn’t be a regular occurrence. And you shouldn’t see water backing up through drains when you run the washing machine, or water come up through a shower drain the nearby toilet is flushed. These indicate bigger clogging issues in the sewer line—and that’s when a pipeline inspection is the best option with a Ventura commercial plumber. Here at Hansen’s Plumbing, we have a Ventura Commercial Plumber ready to help you with any and all of your plumbing needs.
In the bad ol’ days of plumbing, trying to figure out what was going wrong in a residential or commercial sewer line took plenty of guesswork. Even the best plumbers could guess wrong, making it necessary to try a few times to discover the best way to fix the problem. This often involved digging. Thanks to modern pipeline inspection equipment, a plumber can rapidly discover what’s gone wrong by looking at the pipeline from the inside. There are many benefits to using this technology:
Trying to diagnose the trouble with a sewer line can mean a lot of trial-and-error. Pipeline inspection equipment cuts down on how long it takes to discover what repairs or cleaning needs to be done to fix the sewer line. All the plumber must do is insert a fiber optic cable with a digital camera and LED light at its end down into the clean-out for the sewer line. The plumber can then see the pipe from the inside on monitors and have answers in only minutes.
There are many different potential problems with sewer lines: tree root infiltration, extreme corrosion, the build-up of solid debris, sagging pipes, and FOG (grease, fats, and oils). Each requires a different repair solution. A pipeline inspection gives a plumber an exact diagnosis of the trouble and the best way to deal with it. (And this helps make the process go even faster.)
Before video pipe inspection services became common, the brute force method of finding out what was wrong with a sewer line was to dig down to the pipe itself. Not only did this take up time, it made a mess across the property as well, and it meant extra work to re-landscape the area after the work was done. Pipeline inspection equipment goes in laterally—no need to dig at all.

No matter the size of your home or business, it’s vital that you only permit a licensed plumber to handle inspection of your property’s sewer line. The equipment is not only too expensive for you to purchase just for this one job, it also requires extensive training to operate correctly—not to mention be able to do the repair work necessary afterward. Rely on Hansen’s Plumbing for great pipeline inspections in Ventura

When Do You Need to Change Your Water Heater?
A deteriorating water heater isn’t an issue until you take your first icy cold shower. Now comes the big question: repair or replace? How do you know if your water heater is just acting up or burned out for good? Take a look at a few tips below to determine when you need to call Hansen’s Plumbing.
Changing your water heater is definitely something you don’t want to wait too long to do, as costly water damage can occur. Here are some signs to look for to determine if your water heater needs to be replaced.
As a rule of thumb, water heaters should be changed every 6 to 12 years. After this point it can begin having issues and start deteriorating. To avoid costly water damage, be sure to observe the signs below so you will know when to call Hansen’s Plumbing to change out your water heater.
One of the most obvious signs is when you turn on your shower and the water doesn’t get warm. Cold water is the first sign that something is wrong. If it’s an old unit, most likely you need to change it out.
Most people assume their water heater is working fine until they experience cold water. Yet, age is not the only sign that it needs to be replaced. Your water heater could be older and still work perfectly fine. It’s important to pay attention to signs that your heater is deteriorating such as leaks and a rusty color.
If your hot water is a rusty color, this is a clear warning sign that your water heater is corroding and needs to be replaced. When your tank rusts, the rust gets into the water and turns it a dirty brownish color. Yet, this also could be an issue with the public water supply or corroding iron plumbing. To test this, simply turn on the cold water. If it is the same rusty color then, most likely it’s due to an external factor.
If your tank is leaking, it’s an obvious sign that it’s time to get your water heater replaced as soon as possible to avoid water damage. Because it is usually an internal issue, it is rarely fixable and is best to replace.
If it isn’t flushed once a year, sediment builds up inside and this will eventually result in irreversible damage. When it reaches the point where water won’t drain then it can’t be repaired and will need to be replaced.
Once a year, having the heater tank flushed to remove sediment will help it last longer. Another thing to check is the anode rod. This collects corrosive elements and should be checked about every three years and replaced if needed.
